Knock Knock... Wood's There!

On 18 September, circa 50 landmanagers and farmers gathered at Bamff Estate just outside Alyth, to learn of the economic benefits of managing small-scale woodlands.

Woodland on estates and farms can often be overlooked as sources of income and their benefit underestimated. However, when managed properly, woodland can provide not only a potential source of woodfuel and income, but also a range of other environmental and social benefits.

Through knowledgeable speakers, static displays and working demonstrations, a wealth of information was shared throughout the day including the challenges and benefits of managing small woodlands; woodfuel types and markets; the Renewable Heat Incentive and the benefits of co-operative working in forestry.
