Emergency Authorisation Application for 2014 - approved

After an impressively swift turnround of the Group's application by the Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD) it can be confirmed that a Notice of Authorisation for the 2014 season has been agreed, which is expected to be identical to the 2013 Notice apart from the slight difference in start and finish dates.

The Notice of Authorisation will not be issued until May 2014 and therefore details are provisional at this stage.  However, it is expected that the dates for 2014 will be as shown in the table below:

Key Dates Summary 2014 

19 May 2014

Start of the Emergency Authorisation period of 120 days.

Storage, promotion, sales, and transfer authorised.

 

1 July 2014

Application of asulam products can commence.

 

16 September 2014

First expiry date: for sale & distibution of stocks.

Application can continue

 

31 October 2014

Final expiry date: for disposal, storage and use of stocks.

It will be illegal to apply or store asulam products after this date.

 

 

2.   Remaining dates for 2013

As the 2013 bracken control season draws to a close, there are two key dates to remember.  The most important is the Final Expiry Date: after 31 October it will be illegal to store asulam.  The advice to anyone who has asulam in their possession is to use it, or make arrangements to return it to their suppliers - now.
