Views sought on tenancy deposit schemes

Tenancy deposit schemes began operating in Scotland in July 2012. Scottish Land & Estates is keen to hear about members’ experiences using the schemes and whether you have come against any difficulties.

We are particularly interested to know,

If you have experienced difficulty seeking the return of a tenant’s deposit?

  • If you have experienced difficulty seeking the return of a deposit for older leases (5yrs+) which do not have a check-in inventory?
  • How many of your leases do not include an inventory?
  • Have you appealed any decision notice? If yes, were you successful?

Responses to these specific questions or more general comments about the tenancy deposit schemes can be sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by close of play on Friday 30 August.
