Odell Milne, Head of Agriculture & Estates at Brodies LLP, has been named Property/Farm Adviser of the Year in the Scottish Farmer Supplier Awards, the Oscars of the rural sector in Scotland.
The accolade, which was announced on the opening day of the Royal Highland Show, saw Odell see off stiff competition from the other finalist in the category, Allan Paterson of Wallets Rural Property Services. The judges commended Odell's skill at cutting through jargon and delivering concise, practical advice to the wide range of clients she represents in the rural sector.
James Cuthbertson, Director of Sales and Marketing at Bomford, which sponsored the Property/Farmer Adviser of the Year category, presented Odell with a trophy and certificate at the awards ceremony, held at the Royal Highland Showground at Ingliston.
Odell said: "I am honoured to be recognised for my work on behalf of my clients, who represent the full gamut of rural interests the length and breadth of Scotland. I am fortunate to have the support of a wonderful team at Brodies, land agents, surveyors and clients, without whom I would not have won this award. I am fortunate to work in such an exciting sector and I look forward to supporting the many dynamic rural interests across the country in achieving their business aims and fulfil their potential."
Odell is an accredited specialist in agricultural law. She leads the largest specialist agricultural & estates team in Scotland, with a client base covering over 1m acres ranging from centuries old family estates to modern farming and rural business, lenders, funders and both developers and landowners involved in renewables.
