Confor Job Vacancy: Communications Manager

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER - Confor: Promoting forestry and wood

Confor is looking for an enthusiastic communicator to promote Confor's activity, mainly to members and the forestry and timber sector.

The major task is editing the well-respected magazine, Forestry & Timber News, that is published six times per year, with intervening enews.

Ideally, the communications manager will be comfortable working across different platforms in addition to print media, providing content for social media and the Confor website. However, some initial support will be available.  Promotional material for events, plus attendance at one show per year, are also required.

Candidates should ideally have a forestry background, will be confident and hard-working, with a good command of English, be flexible and able to make informed decisions, using their own initiative. In addition, candidates need to be able to listen and respond to members' needs, while working within Confor's strategic framework   The successful candidate will initially work as part of a small team in Confor's head office in Edinburgh, but other locations will not be ruled out.

This is a part-time post of around 2.5 days per week, with flexible hours available.
