SEPA produce flood risk animation

SEPA has produced a new animation which explains their approach to flood risk management to a general audience.  To see the animation, which is available on their website, click here – animation.    The launch of this animation coincides with a meeting of the National Flood Management Advisory Group which has over 50 member organisations, including Scottish Land & Estates, reflecting the national importance and widespread impact of flooding in Scotland.

Scotland is adopting a more sustainable and co-ordinated approach to flood risk management.  In partnership with Scottish Water and local authorities, SEPA is working to produce Scotland’s first ever flood risk management strategies and local flood risk management plans to target investment and action in the areas which can benefit the most.

A new animation which gives an overview of flood risk management (FRM) in Scotland, including information on the FRM planning process, land use planning and flood warning is available at animation.  The launch of this animation coincides with a meeting of the National Flood Management Advisory Group which has over 50 member organisations, including Scottish Land & Estates, reflecting the national importance and widespread impact of flooding in Scotland.  This group has a statutory role to provide advice and guidance to SEPA, Scottish Water and local authorities when required, to help them produce strategies and plans for Scotland.
