Police Message - Rural Crime in Scottish Borders

POLICE MESSAGE From the 2nd April to 28th May, there have been 8 separate incidents regarding the high value thefts of motor vehicles, particularly Land Rovers / 4 X 4s and quad bikes from rural farm areas in the Scottish Borders. All offences have been committed during the hours of darkness, however, there is reason to believe that the persons responsible are watching the premises in daylight, prior to committing the offence. Please could farmers take all possible security precautions with their vehicles. All suspicious incidents should be reported to police, either using the crimestoppers number 0800 555 111, the non-emergency number 101, or if circumstances dictate, the emergency number 999.
