Conserving Declining Waders Theme at Bird Fair

Scottish Land & Estates took a stand at the two day RSPB Bird Fair at Hopetoun House to show how land management methods are helping to look after a range of birds.  The focus was on the Curlew and Lapwing which have halved in number in Scotland since 1995 and how legal predator control combined with wet grassland management can prevent that decline.  We were able to show other case studies of a wide variety of birds thriving on managed estates and how Wildlife Estates Scotland will promote bird conservation, and to showcase the work of the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust.
