Improved liaison on bird surveys

After feedback from members in 2012, new arrangements have been agreed with SNH and RSPB for the 2013 national Twite survey

A joint letter was sent out this week from Scottish Land & Estates and SNH to all member estates in the 2013 Twite survey.  It sets out the new arrangements agreed with RSPB which focus on:
  • Developing a more collaborative partnership approach to bird surveys on estate land
  • Tighter procedures for liaison with estate managers on site visits by surveyors
  • More detailed information about the purpose and methodology of the survey
  • Arrangements for feedback of information to individual estates within six months
