Scottish Land & Estates, which represents over 2,500 landowners across Scotland, said today (Thursday) it wholeheartedly supports a new best practice guide on rent reviews, published by the Tenant Farming Forum.
Douglas McAdam, chief executive of Scottish Land & Estates, said: "As an organisation, we are delighted to have played a constructive role in the development of the new best practice guide. We believe this will be valuable for landlords and tenants alike and will be encouraging our membership to adopt it immediately. We are recommending that the Guide is used alongside rent review notices that will be sent out for May 28th.
"Our long-held view of rent reviews and the landlord-tenant relationship in general is that regular and open dialogue between the parties is the best way to proceed. Everyone who aspires to see a vibrant tenanted sector knows that the most likely way to achieve that is through strong, constructive relationships."
