State of Scotland's Great Trails Report 2013

Scottish Natural Heritage has produced the attached report outlining the current position in terms of developing a long distance trails network for Scotland.

Scotland's Great Trails are nationally promoted trails for people-powered journeys.  Each is distinctively waymarked, largely off-road and has a range of visitor services.  At least 25 miles (40 km) in length, they are suitable for multi-day outings as well as day trips.  Collectively, they offer opportunities to explore Scotland's nature and landscapes and to experience our history and culture.
