Funding Support For New Entrants

The Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment, Richard Lochhead MSP has announced a £2 million support package to help new entrants who have been excluded from support under the current Single Farm Payment Scheme (SFPS). The decision was taken in recognition of the expected delay to 2015 of implementation of the CAP Reforms. The Scottish Government is working closely with the New Entrants panel to ensure that the funding is deployed in the best way possible. It is planned that this support package will be available for the interim period of 2013 and 2014 and that details of the proposed scheme will be available in the near future.
