Visit by CLA Wales


Ben Underwood and Sue Evans from CLA Wales paid a visit this week to the Scottish Land & Estates' team at HQ and the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood, meeting Alex Fergusson MSP.

The trip was arranged to discuss devolved issues, member benefits and working practices.

There were comparisons made to CLA Wales' lobbying and policy work at the National Assembly for Wales at the Senedd in Cardiff.

Ben - Director of Wales Region and Sue - Director of Policy in Wales Region were hosted by Sarah-Jane Laing - Director of Policy & Parliamentary Affairs and Paul Wakefield - Director of Operations & Communications at Scottish Land & Estates.
All four spent time at Holyrood Parliament within the debating chamber, meeting with the clerks of the Rural Affairs, Climate Change and Environment Committee (RACCE) in addition to spending time with Alex Fergusson MSP for West Dumfries and Galloway and member of the RACCE.

Speaking at the end of the day, Paul Wakefield of Scottish Land & Estates commented: "CLA and Scottish Land & Estates have worked closely together for many years, sharing both our policy and communications work. This latest visit has been very useful as a fact finding mission for both organisations and reinforces our excellent joint working"
