SFP and LFASS payments

Scottish Government tells us that so far 97.69% of farmers have received their SFP, which equates to 18,420 from an estimated population of 18,855, and that the expenditure to date stands at £436,857,618.76.

Looking forward, Scottish Government tells us that the prospects for LFASS (total £65.5m) and the Scottish Beef Scheme (total £22m) are positive. With regard to LFASS, EC legislation requires that the inspection programme must be completed before any payments are made, and Scottish Government believe that they are on track to complete inspections to allow payments to commence on schedule in March (although this will be subject to the weather which could hamper the inspection programme). With regard to SBS, Scottish Government are working to a schedule that will see payments being made either at the same time as last year or slightly earlier.
