New Cairngorms Nature Action Plan Launched

Cairngorms Nature is a new partnership where people and organisations come together, regardless of sector or background, with one thing in common - a desire to safeguard and enhance the outstanding nature in the Cairngorms National Park. Working together, we are more likely to achieve and share success and this means positive change for nature in the Park. Anyone can become a member of Cairngorms Nature - please contact them if you're interested.

This is now your opportunity to get involved in developing the Cairngorms Nature Action Plan!

What is the Cairngorms Nature Action Plan?

The Cairngorms Nature Action Plan describes what we agree are the most important things to do over the next five years and provides a focus for the work of partners. The Plan has been written with the help and support of many individuals and organisations.

How you can get involved

This is now your chance to give us your thoughts on the work to date and how you might get involved in making Cairngorms Nature a success.

Please read the draft Action Plan and then provide your comments online.

Alternatively, you can print out a comments form to complete by hand, and send it to us at the freepost address provided. The deadline for receipt of comments is 5pm, Friday 21 December 2012.

What happens next?

Your comments on the work to-date will form part of a report that will be presented to the Cairngorms Nature Strategy Group for discussion in January 2013. The final draft Cairngorms Nature Action Plan, and the accompanying Strategic Environmental Assessment, will then be available for formal consultation in February 2013.

The new Cairngorms Nature partnership, and its accompanying Action Plan, will be officially launched at the Celebrating Nature event taking place in May.

More information about Cairngorms Nature and how to become a member will be published on their website in Spring 2013.
