The annual Scottish Land & Estates' Taxation Seminar was held at Perth Racecourse yesterday. Tax is of the utmost importance to all of our members and this is reflected in the strong turnout at this flagship event every year.
Given the significance of the topic we devote a lot of our time and energy into lobbying on tax issues where we deem appropriate at both a UK and Scottish Government level. Members benefitted from some of the best speakers available on topics that included tax planning and tax breaks for business start ups from Neil Norman of Chiene + Tait, IHT planning, agricultural and business business relief from Ian Clark of Turcan Connell, Divorce and Separation including trusts and asset protection from Gillian Crandles of Turcan Connell and a General Tax Update covering the autumn statement and VAT from Helen Mackenzie of Chiene + Tait.
