MSP Visits Arniston

 alt

Christine Grahame, SNP MSP for Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale, visited member John Goffin at Arniston Estate on Friday 2 November to look at the many business interests that they have  in operation.  Ms Grahame spent the afternoon discussing the diversification projects, both underway and planned on the estate, with a tour taking in the forestry, farming, renewables and community projects.  A particular interest was highlighted in respect of the Borders Waverley train line.  Ms Grahame remarked that that the majority of the public were not aware of how estates worked, the variety of activities they undertake and the contribution that they make and continue to make to the land and community. Scottish Land & Estates will be following up on this by contacting members within the area to seek assistance in promoting the many heritage, cultural, health and wellbeing interests that will encourage more tourism to the area once the new railway line is in place.
