Scottish Land & Estates Welcomes Mount Stuart Annoucement

Scottish Land & Estates, which represents 2,500 landowners throughout Scotland, today welcomed the announcement by Mount Stuart Trust that it is to widen representation on its board of directors.

Luke Borwick, chairman of Scottish Land & Estates, said:

“The Mount Stuart Trust is a progressive organisation whose primary objective is to deliver public benefit.  The Trust’s decision to increase the number of directors on its board in order to enhance the skills base and incorporate local representation shows it is committed to good governance which will continue to benefit the island and its inhabitants, and indeed the wider area.  We understand that this has been a long term aim of the Trust.  Mount Stuart is one of Scotland’s great tourism attractions and it is important that it is maintained for the benefit of all.”
