Bursary support for young(er) Borderers across all aspects of our wide rural economy

Celebrating the Bicentenary 1813-2013

As part of the Bicentennial year in 2013, the Border Union Agricultural Society wants to leave a legacy in the form of a Bursary Fund for young people engaged in the wider rural economy to offer opportunities for professional and vocational development.

The Society has launched an appeal to all Estate owners in the Border Union area to contribute towards the Bursary Fund which will be invested and administrated by a committee of financial experience and the applications will be assessed and awarded by former holders of scholarships such as Nuffield scholars.  The aim is to raise at least £200,000 in donations and/or pledges.

Should you wish further information, or to make a donation / pledge please contact Lord Joicey, Ford & Etal Estates, Ford, Berwick-upon-Tweed, TD15 2QA or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
