Detailed analysis of agriculture in Scotland, published this week, paints a positive picture of the sector.

Total income from farming has increased over the past 10 years by £240 million (67%) Average farm business income increased by 32% – from £34,000 in 2009/10 to £45,000 in 2010/11 Scotland has 18% of the total UK cattle population, 21% of the UK sheep and 9%of the UK's pigs
