The Future of Bracken Control

The fifth Bracken Control Group newsletter is now available to download.   It provides information on what activity is taking place to maintain a supply of asulam products after the end of the use-up period on 31 December 2012.  In the longer term, United Phosphorus Ltd have committed to applying to re-register asulam by the end of 2012.  The re-registration process will take several years with 2016 being the earliest completion date.  In the shorter term, an application for an Emergency Authorisation to allow asulam products to be applied for bracken control in 2013 will be submitted.  The application would be repeated each year until re-registration is achieved.
