The Bill was passed by the Scottish Parliament on 7th June 2012 with no further amendments, although there was much discussion about what still requires to be done.
Once Royal Assent has been given, the legislation will be amended as follows:
1.To extend the class of near relatives entitled to succeed to a secure 1991 Act tenancy to include grandchildren.
2.To prohibit upward only or landlord only rent reviews in Limited Duration Tenancies.
3.To make it clear that a change in rate of VAT will not interfere with the three yearly rent review cycle.
