Draft Code of Practice on Non-Native Species laid before Parliament

The draft Code of Practice on Non-Native Species (NNS), which accompanies the NNS provisions in the Wildlife and Natural Environment Act 2011, was laid before Parliament on 21st May 2012.  The Code must be approved by resolution of the Parliament, as set out in Section 14C of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.  If Parliament does approve the Code it will come into effect on 2nd July 2012.  The draft Code can be downloaded from the Scottish Government website:   http://bit.ly/ScotCodeNNS
