District Heating Loans Scheme Now Open

The Scottish Government's District Heating Loan Fund is now open for expressions of interest. The fund, which is open to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as registered social landlords, aims to provide capital loans for both low carbon and renewable technologies in order to overcome a range of infrastructural issues and help towards capital costs of district heating projects. Key features include:

• Loans of up to £400,000 with a repayment period of 10 years;

 • 3.5% interest rate; • Security not required;

 • Competitive bidding process;

 • Capital loans for up to £100% of project costs (assuming they are within £400K)
