VisitScotland and The Walt Disney Company have announced a unique global marketing campaign to promote Scottish tourism around the much-anticipated Disney•Pixar children’s animation “Brave”, which is set in the Scottish Highlands and features some of Scotland’s biggest stars (Kelly MacDonald, Billy Connolly, Robbie Coltrane and Emma Thompson). This is the first time that Disney has teamed up on this scale with a country’s tourism organisation around the launch of one of its films. VisitScotland and Disney are already working to create a global marketing campaign around the new animated adventure, which is released around the world this summer.
This provides a great opportunity for members with a tourism strand to their business to capitalise on the attention which the film will bring to Scotland.

There are possible promotional opportunities through VisitScotland for interested members. For example VisitScotland will be running a major competition and in conjunction with Disney their will be other smaller promotions centred around the film, as well as a series of press and media visits organised by VisitScotland. If you are interested in offering prizes or a venue for a press and media visit, initially contact Anne Gray at Headquarters. In due course VisitScotland will release a Brave Industry Toolkit to assist businesses with their own promotional activity associated with the film.
