Crofting update


Scottish Land & Estates members and staff have been active on crofting issues in the last few weeks. Members of Scottish Land & Estates crofting sub-group met with Scottish Government staff to discuss the implementation of the Crofting Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 and specifically the creation of the Crofting Register. Staff have also been involved in meetings between representatives from the Cross Party Group on Crofting and Scottish Government, which discussed the way that crofting issues will be dealt with in the process of developing the next SRDP. On Wednesday, Dr Jean Balfour, Chair of the our Crofting Group, and Andrew Midgley, Senior Policy Officer, attended the latest Parliamentary Crofting Cross Party Group and received a presentation from Pam Rodway on the excellent Crofting Connections initiative, which Scottish Land & Estates was pleased to support recently. Read more...
